Next Friday, March 27 & 28, I am going to be at the Fair Oaks Marriott in Fairfax, Virginia for a genealogy conference sponsored by the Fairfax Genealogical Society. My friend and I are taking the train down because the offerings at this conference are irresistible.
Friday:
Using Genealogical Evidence to Break Through Research Barriers
Pennsylvania Research
Continuing Genealogical Research in the 21st Century
North Carolina Research
Military Research
Online Genealogy
Saturday:
Pennsylvania Research, A View from the State Archives
German Research
Finding Your Irish Ancestors
Eastern European Research
I Didn’t Know Those Records Were There
African-American Research
How could I resist, this is the best lineup of lectures I have ever seen. It isn't too late to register and get there to take part. Just go to the Fairfax Genealogical Society website and register and arrange transportation. It is an easy drive only about 7 hours from Connecticut. Amtrak goes to Burke or Manassas Stations which are both about 12 hours or Union Station in DC then take the metro out to Vienna. Of course, you can always fly into Dulles or Reagan.
If however, you can't go, I will be sharing as much of what I learn as possible.
